چکیده

Surface microtexturing has been widely used due to its good hydrophobic or drag reduction characteristics, and become an effective method improve product performance reduce energy consumption. This paper mainly discusses the improvement of microtextures on dynamic pressure characteristics hydrostatic bearings, explores effects texture parameters carrying capacity, macroscopic wall two-plane shear force, cavity area other factors. In oil film model calculation smooth surface radial bearing under action high speed large external load, divergent wedge often a negative area, which is obviously not in line with actual situation, so cavitation effect needs be considered. The CFD analysis “gas-oil” two-phase flow was carried out by using mixture seek optimal scheme thus load capacity (LCC) force. arrangement geometric lubrication were compared analyzed. It found that local better than global texture, different arrangements can achieve rates. work presented this studies bearing. Taking force as target parameters, factors, such morphology, distribution phenomenon, are investigated through simulation experimental methods. textured expected obtain maximum minimum friction resistance. results show arranging partial streamwise at rear end diverging wedge, reduced about 15%, LCC increased 18%.

Viscous Drag Reduction with Surface-Embedded Grooves

Turbulent drag reduction in wall-bounded flows is investigated experimentally by considering the dynamic effects provoked by large variation of anisotropy in the velocity fluctuations. It is shown that high drag reduction is obtained when the velocity fluctuations near the wall reach the statistically axisymmetric state with invariance under rotation about the axis aligned with the mean flow. D...

Drag reduction on a patterned superhydrophobic surface.

We present an experimental study of a low-Reynolds number shear flow between two surfaces, one of which has a regular grooved texture augmented with a superhydrophobic coating. The combination reduces the effective fluid-surface contact area, thereby appreciably decreasing the drag on the surface and effectively changing the macroscopic boundary condition on the surface from no slip to limited ...

Dry Friction and Wear Performance of Micro Surface Textures Generated by Ultrasonic Assisted Face Turning

Nowadays the surface texturing has been widely recognized as a usable capability to improve the tribological systems. In this paper, ultrasonic assisted turning (UAT) isperformed to create the micro textures on the flat faces. Micro surface texturing ismade on the Al7075-T6 by the UAT in the face turning process. Then, the influences of cutting speed feed, vibration direction and vibration ampl...
